UniMe Sustainability Day 2026

22.05.2026

On Friday, 22 May 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the main building of the University, the UniMe Sustainability Day took place. This annual event, promoted by the University of Messina, a member of the Italian Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS), was dedicated to highlighting the many teaching, research and third mission activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

The initiative was included in the national calendar of events promoted by ASviS – the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, as part of the Festival of Sustainable Development, Italy's most important event dedicated to these topics and an official contribution to the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW).

The UniMe Sustainability Day 2026 aimed to strengthen critical awareness of the challenges posed by the current development model, encouraging opportunities for information, dialogue and interdisciplinary discussion. During the day, professionals, university students and secondary school students took part in seminars, workshops and outreach activities organized by the University's Departments, Centres and offices, structured around five strategic thematic areas: Resources and Environment, Mobility, Energy, Inclusion and Health.
